How to use LinkedIn Easy Apply

2

Those of you who use LinkedIn for job hunting may have noticed that some job adverts will have an ‘Apply’ button and others will say ‘Easy Apply’. In this article, I’ll explain the difference between the two and how to use LinkedIn Easy Apply. This plugin was released in 2011 to allow employers to manage job applications more efficiently.

What is the difference between LinkedIn Apply and LinkedIn Easy Apply?

Adverts with the ‘Apply’ button will lead you to the company’s website and you’ll be asked to complete your application on their website. Usually, this will involve uploading your CV and cover letter, filling out your personal details and possibly answering application questions. However, job adverts that have the Easy Apply button will allow you to apply for the role directly on LinkedIn. Instead, you will upload a copy of your CV on LinkedIn which the recruiter will see in addition to your profile.

  • No need to visit the organisation’s recruitment website and follow long processes such as creating accounts and filling out application forms
  • LinkedIn will let you see when the recruiter has received and viewed your application

  3. Next, you will need to upload your CV. Once you have uploaded a CV you can use this for every application going forward unless you wish to change it
  4. There may be some additional questions set by the recruiter
