In February 2021 footage from a meeting of the Handforth Parish Council went viral after descending into chaos. Council members debated points of order, heckled each other, traded insults and disputed who was in charge – not exactly what you would expect from a parish council meeting. Thankfully, Jackie Weaver was on hand to bring order to the meeting and eventually kicked 3 councillors out.
The video of the meeting was shared over 3 million times and several members of the council became household names. It’s safe to say Jackie Weaver’s life has changed dramatically since – as well as numerous TV and radio appearances she has published a book, started a podcast and opened the BRIT awards.
