How annoying is it when your mobile phone charger all of a sudden stops working? It means having to beg family and friends to borrow their charger whilst you make a trip to the shops to purchase a new one (or order one online).
Not only that but some mobile phone chargers can cost up to £20.
So here are seven simple ways to stop your mobile phone charger from breaking:
- Do not use your phone whilst it is charging as moving it around will cause the cable to bend. Leave it still ideally on a flat surface.
- Take good care of cables when you are not using them. It is easy just to leave them plugged into the wall, lying on a desk or at the bottom of your bag but this could cause them some accidental damage. Instead, keep them somewhere safe or consider buying a protective case or wallet for them.
- When unplugging the charger, do not pull the wire. Hold the plug or the part that connects to your phone and gently remove it.
- Purchase a wireless charger for which you only need to set your phone on top.
- This is an older trick but try wrapping electric tape around the ends of the cable.
- Wrap the cable with thread.
- Purchase a cable protector. This is a small plastic or rubber roll that wraps around the cable to prevent it from twisting or bending.
